The Summoner is one of this years most anticipated games. And suprise suprise its for the mac OS. Summoner takes place in a time similar to medieval Europe. In the game the Summoner you control the action of a mysterious youth named Joseph. As you play deeper into the game, Josephs past unfolds and you discover that it holds many dark secrets. Later in his quest Joseph harnesses his summoning ability through several ancient rings. Joseph can wear just one ring, or several which combines their elemental abilities. A different beast is summoned depending on wich ring or combo he chooses. The horrific creatures come in all sizes and shapes, ranging from Black Imps to Minotaurs. Their is a wide range on the creatures you can summon, but be careful. Not every beast wants to rise to your cause. They may turn on you at any given moment. Plus, if Joseph dies or faints in battle, the summon will ravage friend and foe alike. The graphics are not as good as they could be, but are still mind-blowing. In addition you can disable enemies if you attack certain limbs. All four party members have extreme detail right down to a single button. Summoner also features a wide variety of weapons, rings, and garments for Joseph to use throughout the game. The macgamerschoice reveiw team gives this game and 8 out of 10.
