Ambrosia. Known for reviving old concepts and making great games out of them. And pop-pop is no exception. Pop-pop is basically pong, but with a few twists to be sure. In pop-pop, as you use your paddle to bounce your ball back and forth, breaking the bricks, you draw ever closer to being crushed by the bricks which creep ever closer. And many of the bricks contain power-ups, which will give you temporary special abilities or powers. Yet, some of the bricks contain power-downs, which lower your powers. Now, provided you have enough energy, you can use your two powers. One can charge your paddle, which will break many bricks at once, while the other will magnetize it, drawing the ball to your paddle. But, while single player is fun, multiplayer is where the real entertainment begins. Now, granted you cant be ruthless and destroy everything like Quake or RTCW, but to win you must have skill and or course, good reactions. But more often then not, you will find yourself winning simply because your opponent could smash his bricks fast enough and, inevitably, was crushed. And each pop has their own superpower which releases a nasty attack on your opponent. Pure ecstasy. And unlike many other shareware games, pop-pop features awesome graphics. Wow! With is bright, anime like graphics, pop-pop features a lot of eye candy. And yes, sound effects are good, and certainly not annoying. Job well done, Ambrosia. Rating:8.5 out of:10
