The long wait is finally over. And as promised, macplay has delivered us Aliens vs Predator gold for the mac. But is it as big as the hype? Well, yes, but there could have been a few changes to make it even better. Single player is by far this games best part, allowing the player to choose the marine, the alien and the ever popular predator. Having seperate storylines for each character is a plus, but even bigger is that player can also switch from character to character. Tired of being a marine? Switch to the alien. Or the predator. However, the alien may not be as appealing to some gamers because it carries no weapons, but it can leap enourmous distances and climb on any surface. The sounds in AVPG are amazing if not stunning. The music and effects sound if they were ported right out of the movies. The aliens screams and the marines guns sound perfect. Props, Macplay. The graphics are good. Not great, good. Dont expect to push your video card above and beyond what you have before. But hey, nothing is wrong with that, right? Now also in the visual area, most of the levels look the same. But again, if traveling through an alien ship or a military compound, that much would be expected. Multiplayer experience is at best average, with many gameplay modes and maps, but poor player interface. If you want to stop or change the game, all the players have to exit the game and start again with new settings. But, do check multi player out, however you will have more fun in single player.
